Walk through our yard and you’ll notice something straightaway. Row after row, trailer after trailer – same stance, same finish, same details. Like peas in a pod.

That kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of tight quality control and disciplined processes designed to ensure every Bailey trailer is built to the same high standard, every time.

For fleet operators, that consistency matters. It affects how your trailers perform, how they’re maintained and their trade-in value. Here’s how we achieve it…

We’d like to thank all those who visited our stand at LAMMA 2026. Across both days the response to our range was extremely positive, with strong interest across all 10 trailers on display. It was a great opportunity to showcase the build quality, practical features and versatility that set our products apart — and to discuss individual requirements face to face.

The clear star of the stand was our 16-tonne Root Special trailer. With the aid of heavy-duty lifting gear supplied courtesy of Finkbeiner UK, visitors were able to see for themselves the quality of engineering that goes into every chassis on a Bailey trailer. This particular Root Special was one of a fleet of five destined for Philip Benzie of Benzies in Aberdeenshire.

It’s fair to say that nobody could have predicted the unprecedented number of visitors to the NEC during the first day of LAMMA 25. Records were broken.

Thank you to everyone who visited our stand and for their interest and enthusiasm in what we’re doing. With 10 trailers on display there was plenty to look around. The star attraction being our 22 tonne TB complete with silage kit, rear wheel steer and fold down sides, looking fabulous in black.

Our newly updated Beavertail Low Loader received plenty of attention, as did our hydraulic bale clamps, which always spark conversations. We designed the new 2 tonne Dropside trailer after receiving requests from customers, it also proved to be a popular product on the stand.

Michael Bailey summed up: “Farming is going through an uncertain time; LAMMA provided an opportunity for us all to get together, chew the fat and share thoughts and ideas. It’s always good to catch up with our customers and hear how they are getting on with our products. We even did a bit of business over both days and there was plenty of interest, which I hope to see filter through over the coming months.”

Following recent requests from customers for a smaller trailer, we have now designed a new 2 tonne Dropside model to join the range.

Our Dropside 2 tonne trailer is offered at 2,500 long by 1500 wide by 450mm high with a 1 x 50mm 5 stud axle. Standard features includes: LED lights, hydraulic brakes, dropsides, body prop, parking brake and number plate holder.

Dropside 2 is perfect for light loads, particularly when working within confined spaces. The compact size of this trailer makes it ideal for general duties at market gardens, parks and amenities, stables, country estates and stately homes.

Tractor pulling is the most powerful motor sport in the world. ‘On the Limit’ are a Northamptonshire -based family tractor pulling team. Started by Mark Pacey in 2014, On the Limit is now driven by Mark’s daughter Ellie at pulling events throughout the UK and Europe. Bailey has supported On the Limit by producing a custom plate which sits on the front of the tractor and special merchandise, all cut on our CNC laser. Before the tractor pulling season kicks off next month, we posed a few questions to Ellie.

How did you get into tractor pulling?
People say tractor pulling is a sport, it’s more a way of life. My Dad’s been in tractor pulling for coming up to 40 years, I went to my first tractor pull at two weeks old! So, I’ve pretty much grown up around the sport my whole life.

I begged Dad for a pink tractor and was given one for my 8th birthday. After that there was no stopping me. I began competing in local junior events and have been competing in one class or another ever since. I pretty much dominated my races as a kid. I had a logo on the back of the tractor which read: ‘Come on boys, keep up.’

My first event behind the wheel of On the Limit was at Great Eccleston near Blackpool, I was 16 years old. After driving it for the first time, that was it, I had never experienced anything quite like it. The pass only took seven or eight seconds, but it was one hell of an adrenaline rush.

Are there any other women competing in the sport?
There are a few that compete regularly in the UK series. A lot of female drivers compete in Holland and there are many women drivers dominating in the European series, especially within the slightly lighter chassis classes.

Tractor pulling is a very inclusive sport. You don’t have to worry about being a certain strength, it’s about knowledge of a track, to be able to drive – having a feel for a throttle and grip.

You’re the driver, but what is the On the Limit team dynamic?
Although I’m the driver, I’m also responsible for marketing and promotions. I help out in the workshop, to try and learn as much as possible from Dad. Dad is team principle and chief engineer, as you can imagine, with 39 years of competing, he’s a fountain of knowledge, he also drives our artic to events.

We are also joined by Ed, who is a former competitor which is great, especially when we’re trying to fine tune things before a run, or when certain jobs need more people. Dad normally backs me up. Ed runs the end of the track and will be there generally as a safety person.

Last but not least is Mum, my biggest supporter. She’s really good at helping me with our marketing. At events Mum sets up all of the merchandise on our stand and generally keeps us all going.

How did you get involved with Bailey Trailers?
It all started with a chat in the pub! I met Jazz Bailey through mutual friends. We ended up chatting about her family’s business at Bailey Trailers. Then the conversation moved onto tractor pulling we spoke about doing something together.

Jazz mentioned that Bailey have a CNC laser cutting machine in their factory; she made us a custom plate that we’ve fitted on the front of the tractor. Our name is on the front, which is backlit when we race at night it’s like having an under-glow. It looks really cool and adds a bit of a wow factor.

Bailey have also made us a few special keyrings that we hand out in our VIP area. They are smart stainless steel pieces, which are good to give to sponsors when they visit us, it’s nice to give them something back as well.

How do you see the future of tractor pulling?
I’d love to see tractor pulling gain a massive following, it’s definitely growing in popularity. For example, this year we had a stand at the LAMMA show, the number of people we spoke to was unreal. There was a lot of interest and I hope we see more spectators as a result.

There’s definitely more events coming onto the UK calendar. There’s a lot more promotion of these events. I love to promote the sport; I have a bit of a following on social media and stuff like that. So, I always try to do my bit.

It’s an inclusive sport. I’ve never turned up to a tractor pull and felt out of place for being a female competitor. I’d love to see more women give it a go. Basically, we strap five dragster engines together and put it down the track, it’s awesome to watch. If it could go to bigger and better places it’d be amazing.

What are your ambitions for On the Limit?
Well, we’ve won a British Championship. Generally, we’re always in the top three. There’s some very strong competition in the UK at the moment, you’re trying to keep up with new technology. You can’t afford to stand still; every team is looking for those marginal gains.

I’d love to win the British Championship this year, we’ll certainly be having a good go. Next year will see us celebrate 40 years since Dad first competed in tractor pulling, he has won some very big races and has quite a collection of trophies. It would be amazing if we could add to those trophies, that would be really something…

It was a special two days at LAMMA 24. Not only did we enjoy a very busy show, we also had the opportunity to present Breast Cancer Now with a cheque for £36,000 from our pink trailer prize draw. Charles Waudby won the trailer, it was nice to show him around his prize.

Our pink trailer certainly received a lot of attention as did other products on display. In particular our Bale Trailer complete with Hydraulic Bale Clamps sparked a number of conversations. Because we offer a choice of 3 different heights, farmers are able to choose clamps that suit their work rather than having to compromise.

High Lift trailers are a very specialist product, they come into their own if you need a trailer to tip into elevated storage units. Although they are a niche product, we decided to take one to LAMMA before it joins the fleet at a pea vining business. It looked very impressive elevated and illustrated perfectly how our design innovation leads to quality products that farmers can rely on.

We were joined on stand by members of our dealer network, which helped greatly during a hectic couple of days. Conversations were started, deals were done and the mood was optimistic for the year ahead, despite what mother nature and the government throw at us, but then farmers are a resilient bunch.

Our paint specialists Witham Group were also present on our stand. We’ve worked closely together to develop our new two-pack structural intermediate coating. This process now provides elasticity for objects to bounce off the trailer reducing impact and the potential for damage to the exterior paintwork. In addition, this new coating provides enhanced levels of mechanical, chemical, and weather resistance.

Stephen Bailey commented: “LAMMA is always a busy show for us, it’s held at a time when many farmers can afford to leave the farm for a day or two. It was great to meet up with many of our existing customers and to speak to farmers who we hope will become Bailey customers this year.”

It was a special moment on our stand at LAMMA 24 when we presented a cheque for thirty six thousand pounds to Breast Cancer Now. The money was raised through our ‘Win it in Pink’ campaign, an opportunity to win a special pink TB15 agricultural trailer, the first and only of its kind.

Michael Bailey presented the cheque to Valerie Paragon, Local Representative for Breast Cancer Now. Also on the stand was the lucky winner of the trailer, Charles Waudby. Charles is a farmer and contractor from near Ripon in North Yorkshire, this was the first opportunity for Charles and his family to take a look at their prize.

Valerie Paragon commented: “It means the world to so many people. It’s difficult to put into words the number of families who will benefit from this enormous amount of money donated by Bailey Trailers. This money will go a long way towards Breast Cancer Now realising our ambition that by 2050 anyone diagnosed with breast cancer not only lives, but lives well.”

Charles Waudby said: “I would just like to say thank you to Bailey and their suppliers for making it happen and everyone who made a donation, it’s for a very good cause. I feel lucky to have won this one-off trailer, I am really looking forward to hitching it up to the tractor and putting it to work.”

Michael Bailey added: “I’m delighted that we’ve raised in excess of thirty six thousand pounds for Breast Cancer Now, our thanks to all for their support. And congratulations to Charles on winning the trailer, we look forward to catching up with him during the season.”

We really enjoy visiting all parts of the UK to attend county shows and also to support our dealer’s regional events. This month saw the Bailey Trailers roadshow back in Edinburgh for the Royal Highland Show.

Held over 4 days Royal Highland is the biggest show in the Scottish farming calendar and is also popular with farmers and contractors from the North of England.

We’ve been attending Royal Highland for over 30 years and always take a wide variety of trailers. Our stand this year featured four TB models from 11 – 18 tonne, including Silage Kit, a 15 tonne Beeteaper, 14 tonne Bale with Hydraulic Clamps, 17 tonne Contract Tipper and a 16,500 ltr Water Bowser.

The show was very well attended and our stand was as busy as ever. It was good to meet many of our customers from Scotland and the North of England and hear how they are getting on with our products, it was also good to catch up with a number of our Scottish dealers.

So that was LAMMA 2023 and what a show it turned out to be! We’ve been attending LAMMA for as many years as we can remember, from those bitterly cold days at the county show grounds of Lincoln, Newark, and Peterborough to the warmth and convenience of the NEC.

Our stand was the busiest it’s been over the two days since LAMMA moved to the NEC. Usually, things quieten down towards the end of the second day, but not this year, which was full on right until the very end. You could have filled one of our 18,000 litre Water Bowsers with the amount of tea and coffee consumed by all.

It was great to catch up with customers from all parts of the UK. Topics of conversation were broad – from UK farming into 2024 and beyond, to sharing ideas. Since our story began we’ve always listened to farmers, many innovations on our trailers today began as a conversation with a customer.

A particular talking point was the growing popularity of our Hydraulic Bale Clamps. The 7500mm Bale Trailer with 1700mm Hydraulic Clamps on the stand caught the eye of many and subsequently we’ve provided a host of leads to our dealers.

Our partners from Vehicle Weighing Systems joined us on stand for day 1 and fielded many questions about Onboard Weighing Systems. We specify the VWS Cropweigh Onboard Weighing System which is available as a factory fit option on new Bailey hydraulic tipping trailers from 14 tonnes and upwards.

Over the 2 days we received orders for trailers across the range which were passed on to our dealer network. We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand and we look forward to seeing you at LAMMA 24.

I think it’s fair to say that 2022 has been a challenging year in many respects, however, there have also been some positives…

February 2022 marked forty years since the very first Bailey trailer rolled off the production line. If you asked my father back then if he could have envisaged where we are today, he wouldn’t have thought it possible. We’ve come a long way, we’re still a family firm and I’m very proud there’s a next generation of Bailey’s helping us drive our business forwards.

We welcomed McMullan Agri to our network of dealers. This was a significant moment for Bailey Trailers, McMullan are our first dealership in Northern Ireland. The team at McMullan are now offering both sales support and aftercare for Northern Ireland and Donegal.

Our Hydraulic Bale Clamps have become a popular option on sales of new Bale and Pallet trailers. We increased the range by introducing 850mm Hydraulic Bale Clamps which offer the perfect solution to farmers and contractors carting potato boxes, fertiliser bags or seed bags.

It was great to meet up with so many of our customers again during the shows we’ve attended up and down the UK this year. There’s nothing better than hearing how our products are helping farmers and contractors meet their goals. Many of the innovations on our trailers are the result of conversations with customers, we’ve always said if their idea works we’ll build it.

Looking ahead to 2023 and beyond, we’ll keep developing and refining our products across the range of industries we serve from agriculture and market gardens to construction and utilities. There are also one or two areas we could expand into and all I can say is watch this space.
