Looking after your trailer

Our trailers are well known for being robust and reliable, they’ll keep on going whatever the load, terrain or conditions. However, that doesn’t mean to say that they don’t need looking after.

If you look after your Bailey trailer it will look after you. Here are a few tips:

Washing your trailer
We recommend that you use non-aggressive detergents. Once your trailer is washed, carry out the following…

Rams
Open and close rams several times to displace water in the seals.

Brakes
Try the brakes 3 to 4 times to release surplus air and displace any water.

Air brakes
Activate air brakes several times to displace surplus air out of the air tank and displace any water.

Paintwork
Once the trailer is rubbed down and dry, apply touch up primer and top coat (available from our parts department).

Lights
Check all lights are working, replace any damaged cables and sockets.

Greasing
After washing the trailer and carrying out any remedial work, regrease all greasing points.

Keep it undercover
For optimum protection it’s always advisable to store your trailers indoors.
